Revenue Cycle Specialist

Ambulatory Management Solutions, a leading anesthesia management and ambulatory-based, peri-operative consulting firm, is looking for a full-time Revenue Cycle Specialist to support our medical billing department.

Specific responsibilities include:

Timely follow-up of unpaid claims with commercial and governmental payers, as well as other third parties including workers' compensation carriers, auto carriers, and attorneys.
Conducting appropriate research on payers' policies and filing appeals with appropriate documentation for denied services.
Responding to patient inquiries and initiating calls on outstanding balances.
Cash posting and daily account reconciliation.

Ideal candidates for this position have…

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in the full cycle billing process for physicians.  Experience in anesthesia billing preferred.
  • Must have strong working knowledge of managed care plans and governmental payers, including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois.
  • Previous experience using AdvancedMD and Availity preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills. Must be open-minded and creative in their problem-solving approach. 
  • Experience cultivating strong professional relationships with individuals within all levels of an organization.  Previous experience in a team lead role preferred.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organization and project management skills; detail oriented; ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
